This bike has to qualify as THE "Bike In the Barn" find.  Got it pretty darn cheap and basically just had clean up brakes, forks and carb.  The bike handles like a dream and has great mid range power.  Need to do some more cleaning on the idle circut.  But Its going to the Races Jan 10th.

Oh yea here is a picture of me riding the bike.  Also I had to get the Motoplat rebuilt.  That was pretty painless though

What does it cost to get the motosplat rebuilt when it does go out?? Just curious..

Really nice bike, and best of all, it's RUNNING!   Just keep running that race fuel through the carb and it will help clean those small orifices.   p.s. Did you get your SACHS transmission adjusted?   joe

1st the Motoplat.  How the Motoplat goes out?  Poor Grounds and DO NOT USE RESISTOR spark plugs and not letting it dry out if it gets wet.  I think its the diode in the motoplat that eventually gives away.  My six day has the original motoplat in it and I have never had a problem with it.  When I got the MC80 bike it had a resistor plug in it.
2nd.  I haven't adjusted my Tranny yet.  I need/want  to get the Locking plate tool to remove the clutch hub.  The main reason I switched efforts from the 6-day to the MC80 is, American Retro Cross added a hill called "Mt Whitney" for the Jan 10th Race at Glen Helen.  My little 6 Day with my Lard butt on it can just about make it up just about anything in 1st, but everybody else in my class rides 250's or 400's.  So, by the 3rd hill they're gone.  When I found out that they were adding a hill, I switched it into high gear to get this bike going.  It takes me out of Vintage though.   After the Race, I'm going back to work on the 6-Day.  Right now it is sitting in my Barstow Living Room.  The women that come over and see it in the house think I have issues.

What you need is the MC80 engine in the 6 Day frame. Killer combo!
