Happy holidays.  Just doing some surfing and - for whatever reason - these guys at ECVMX keep popping up.  Not sure where their reserves are set, don't know their reputation, but they have been putting up some shiny hardware for sale this year.  Check out where the bidding is at on the 1980 KTM.  I personally find myself more drawn to the Plain Jane '84.

I know them (sort of). They're in Raleigh too. They are the Weaver brothers and they have a volvo dealership in town. If anyone wants to buy something from them, I'll store it until you can come get it. For good or bad I believe it's rather a mercenary enterprise, in the car-dealership sense. Lots of shiny on the tires and new paint and stickers. I don't know if their restos go beyond that.

Oh my gosh...I just noticed the price on the 73 Husky CR 125 - north of $4000 and still going.  That has got to be some kinda record for one of these....

It's nice, but that's not the correct air cleaner for that year, is it?  Hmmm...wonder if there might be some overseas bidders on this one.

Terence - agree with your "lots of shiny", but many of the ads reference the extent of work done, by them or others.  

Did I mention I'm also fond of the 82 RM250?  I've always heard such great things about the Full Floater set-up vs. what everyone else was doing at that time.

That's what my impression was after I looked closely at the 1980 MC250. I have one just like it, but there are a lot of overlooked things on that one, like the severly bent brake rod and the DC plastics side panels without the slots cut out, the generic slightly wrong color background ovals with screws w/large washers holding them on, and freshly painted engine with the large black circle on the clutch cover unpainted, and missing the kick stand. I would never sell mine, but at a price of $3,450.00 it should be much more correctly detailed in my opinion. Mike

The pipe and aircleaner on that 125 Husky are 74 so I bet it is a 74 CR125.

There is a great interest in the later models prior to the h20 models. Years 79/80 and 81 with their gorgeous graphics, simple in design, but very effective!

I was wondering about that too. ACR says 1974 and earlier as well.

I bought an 80 YZ 250 G from them a year or so ago and it was simply a cosmetic cover up, spray paint on areas of the frame, motor etc. with some new plastic and a seat cover and a LOT of armour all for the pictures. I don't think they get much into making them mechanically ready. Good salesman though!

I had sent them an email about the missing vent hose of the tranny, and the hose clamps missing off the carb boot.  Their replay was that "the new owner could take care of that."  My first thought was what else is missing on the bike?  For $4 grand, I want the bike perfect when I get it.
