Looking for History on my 400?

I've had this '76 400 Cross Country for about 15 years and wondering if anyone here might know some history on it.  

From what I was told, it was bought new by a Doctor from Michigan.  It was entered in the Jack Pine Two Day run but supposedly never finished and then stored away for years. It does have a leaded tag safety wired through the head/cyl/frame. The bike was sold (by the original owner) through Hemmings and shipped to MA in the late 80's I believe. It presently only has 500 miles on it and had less than 300 when I purchased it.  

Last Spring, I was told by a POG member that someone from this board was the one who actually rode this bike at the 2 Day.  

Anyone remember this old ride?

wow not mine but wish it was.  i had one exactly like it , road it for 3 years best bike i ever owned.  
if you ever want to sell i'd buy it .  been looking for mine for years.
