Due to a change in plans I was unable to attend. Anyone have any interesting tid-bits to share?

Paul,

We missed you at York.

By the way, do you have a new grand child to brag about?  Congratulations.

Tony,

I sure missed being there, I think that is the first York meet I missed since Will Stoner started that event a lot of years ago.

No new grandchild yet, but it could be at any time.

I have heard nothing except rave reviews about the event on Sunday...

I have to tip my hat to the PVR folks for telling me that my spot will be available to me in the future, I had already paid for it but called them mid-week to say I might not be attending and to please resell it if they could as I did not want to see an empty spot at such a busy swapmeet.

Take care,
Paul

Mick Milakovic

Hey Mike, did you buy the Husky?

No, but he finally told me how much it would take to buy it, although he really didn't want to sell it. He really wants to rebuild the engine and keep it to race. It is very nice, and I found out that the complete chassis was just done including the Ohlins, so it wasn't priced like a project, although I also found out how cheap he got it for 3 days earlier. It is a CR390 Chassis with the taller suspension and CR engine, but with a larger chrome tank with 3 small dents, but rusty inside. I would have to wait for tax refund time to afford it once I settled all my other reponsibilities and it may be too late by then, but who knows. I would like to have it only with a WR390 engine, especially since it has a street title.
I was told by Allen Brown that they installed the CR suspension pieces on his sons WR race bike, and it made a tremendous difference in lap times, not that it would help me any, Ha ha. Mike

Be patient, there are plenty of WRs out there.

Really,
I think I would rather have the better CR suspension with a WR engine, and just lowering the forks in the chassis some, after talking to Allen Brown. It doesn't sound like that bad of a deal when you think of it like this:
How much would someone charge to have a complete chassis restored for them, including the tires, brakes, carb, shocks, frame, swingarm, cables, fenders, ready to just drop in an engine and go? Mike

My first time visit to York.  Al Buehner took me under his wing, and in exchange for a little totin' of bins full o' Penton parts, I got to experience a really nice & fun event.  LOTS of cool bikes, parts, and plenty of good folks.

Among those was our buddy, Lew Mayer.  I told him I'd pay him a buck if he sat on this Doodlebug, then after I got the shot told him he'd have to pay me a fin to keep it off the POG site.  Well, ol' Lew wouldn't ante up, so here here he is!
