I just took ownership of a 71 Six Day, V5041. It came from a barn outside Jackson AR. It has a short 68 or 69 seat, but there are no mounting holes for the rear mount. Some sort of down pipe that sweeps back up after it passes the rt side foot rest. I am leaving early in the am for a job, and won't be back until Sunday, so I will try to post a photo or two when I return. Cylinder has been modified for a bolt on Carb, but it has a 27mm Bing?? Motoplat ignition is intact, and is missing the air box, no shifter or Kickstarter. Just what I need, another project to set in the back of the shop for 3 or 4 years...lol

Just put this one on EBay.

Donny, how ya been !!  I got a 71 also that I stole a good running motor for a DKW project. Its been in the barn  for years. I guess it will be a parts doner at some point.  Is your frame welded in the typical break points on that there 71 ?

Hey Donny how you doin! Long time ... How is it in Arkansas? Do you have a Bing isolating bushing for the 27mm carb. I have some of the flat washers that go in first but can't find the bushing anywhere. Thinking about trying this place in New Jersey that makes plastic parts to order. I believe the Bing/Sachs bushing was made from a phenolic material. Anybody think it's made from something else? I know that Kip Kern said to use gasket material glued into a bushing. I might be tempted to do that but I wouldn't trust it not to leak or worse have the carb fall off. Some bikes used a rubber band of sorts around the carb to the cylinder to keep that from happening. Doesn't sound like something you'd see on a Penton... Good to have you back here. Gavin

Gavin,
Hey buddy! Good to be back! I have a few of those. How many do you need?

Bob you don't know how many times I looked at that and it didn't click in my brain. I never took the time to even click on it so it would be a bigger picture. Then I would have recognized what it was. The flat washer threw me off. Thanks for you help. Gavin
