Vintage rules and tire questions

We are preparing our first bikes for VMD and have several questions, the bikes are: 77 Penton GS6 for harescramble and a 80 model CR125 & possibly a 81 YZ250 for MX (sorry not Pentons).

Is there a place to down load the AMA rules governing Vintage MX and Harescambles?  ( I found the AHMRA rules)

Main question is regarding tires, are the any restriction for these years in regards to modern sizing and or tread patterns?

What are the classes for these years?

Are there number plate color requirements?

Mike,

Classes should be the same as last year and you can access rules through the AMA website though it is tricky as you must hunt through the last years stuff.  You are looking for the Vintage Suplemental rules.  There are no color numberplate requirements.  There are also No tire restrictions.  AMA rules are much simpler than AHRMA and not so ticky picky.  No one is out there busting someone for 1/8 inch too much travel and such.

Thanks Larry for the info.  I will look for the some active 2010 links for the rest of the rules.  Tires were our concern for now..... looking forward to July!
