I have recently purchased an old Friend,a 1975 (?) mint 400.I am hopeing to put it into action this summer here in the Mid West.( cincinnati).raceing AHRMA it seems to fit in the post vintage with susp. limits of 9 and 9 inches. Can anyone help me with what rear shocks work the best(I assume in the 45% position). And can I race vintage class with shorter shocks. Thanks in advance.Rh

If you have a 75 you have 7" travel up front. IN the rear you have about 7" also with most 13.5" shocks mounted in the 45 angle. You can also run the same shocks leaving the rear mount in the same position running them straight up. You may get away with running them in the next hole forward. Most the ahrma guys run 15" shocks right over the axle for vintage class to help the bike turn better but you cant run those laid down.
