Frame number

Hi all-- I have a lead on a '73 175 Jackpiner and have been given the following frame number: 7-30363880. I believe from reading this Forum that it is a 73 manufactured in March, but does the 7 indicate a 175 Jackpiner?

The first digit is the year. The next two are the month. The final five are the serial number.

So according to your numbers you have a 1977 which was made in the 30th month - better go back and check those numbers again - the second two numbers will be 01 -> 12.

Actually, on second thought, throw out the 7- and you end up with a correct set of numbers.

year - 1973
month - March

I have no idea what the 7 is doing in there.

I could be wrong, but the 7 in front of the frame number indicates that it was a 175 frame. Both of my 175 frames have that number in front. This doesn't equate to the engine numbering to determine engine size, but my 250's have a 4 in front of the frame number and my 400 has a 5 in front. This is just my input and I'm sure others would have the correct answer.
