What Did You Do To Your PENTON Today?

Bill Orth is a great guy to deal with.  He picked up my Ebay Triumph North of Denver, held on to it for a couple of months, and then brought it down to Diamond Don's for me last spring.  The Mint was already gone before I could refer him to the group :)

I will have to say that the best part of buying this bike was in fact having the opportunity to meet Bill. He's a fine gentleman and just full of interesting stories. If you ever have the chance to meet him, you'll be glad you did.

And, sorry Mike:D.  There's a little snow on the ground here this morning but I may have to fire it up!

Yes, both Dale and Tom's comments about Bill Orth and true to the letter,

he is a great guy to deal with and a wealth of knowledge, he was a Penton dealer back in the begining and is a regular at the ISDTRR,

no problem Tom, was ment to be, i don;t need 2 of them anyway [:p]

by the way i did get the 74 Red 250 MX tank and side panels from his origional listing, need them for my 311***** MC250

Hey, fire it up and do a little snow scrambles [:0], just be careful those 400's pack a punch :-))))

here is a pic of mine, resto work courtesy of our very own Chi-Jerry

Rigging a brakelamp switch for a bike I am pulling together.  I figured I would post this as there are not a lot of good photos on how to mount these.  This is just a ZKW switch, available from Al B. with a little bracket to hold it in place, and allow for adjustments as you adjust your brakes.

Finally completed the 73 JP.  Many thanks go out to those who directly gave me advice or helped with parts such as Brian Kirby, Kip Kern, Randy Lamp, Randy Kirkbride, Al Beuhner, Doug Wade, Larry Good, Jake Fischer, and all of the POG members who would respond to my posts.  You are all fantastic folks.  Anyway, here are a couple of pics of the finished product.  I know the back tire is gimpy, and will be corrected as soon as I get another extra set of wheels reworked and the Pirelli M16's mounted, I'll swap em out.

Thanks again everyone.  This was my second bike to build.

Great job Keith, beautiful bike!  The MT16's will provide a more aggressive stance but I think it looks great.

You didn't have to take pictures in front of a palm tree though, it snowed here last night[8D]

yeah, well, i am brand new to POG and the Forums and this thread has given me a great "window" into the kind of folks who enjoy pentons. i am convinced motorcycle brand allegiance is diagnostic. Being a Guzzi and old Triumph guy before buying the 1977 250 GS6 which now occupies my spare time as it comes apart and goes together again according to Al Buehner's manuals and parts books, i am an example of my own theory. just measured the .040 head room mandated and wonder how many other people have been tempted to cheat a few thousandths for a little extra zoom. Alas, good sense wins out. . .look forward to getting to know you people.

Not sure if this qualifies as what I did to my Penton today...but I just finished up a bike (74 Six Day) for another member and he is headed down my way tomorrow to pick up.  Been working on this one since New Years eve and overall I am very happy with the results, I would post a picture, but I have not sent him any photos of the completed project yet ;), so I will have to wait till tomorrow to do that.   Now that I think about it, I actually did do something to mine today... I finally found a 40-404 vaporizer (gotta thank Doug Bridges for the lead on that) and re-jetted for that and CAM2.  Amazing difference, tomorrow I will get to put it through the paces and see if any other tweaks are in order.
