Sept POG meeting on the 1st?

Paul Danik

Yes sir Dan, Thursday September 1st. is the next meeting.

We will be meeting in the meeting room of the KTM building, Amherst, Ohio starting at 7 pm.

Are you going to the Yankee reunion next weekend?  It will be a great time to see the Jim Hoellerich Vintage Trail Bike Museum as well as attend the reunion.

Giving the Yankee reunion serious thought, we'll see.

How many hours driving is the KTM HQ from Oakland,MD(a couple of hrs south of Pittsburgh)? I'll be in from Texas over that time and would like to try and attend.

Paul Danik

Mark,
Deep Creek Lake near Oakland, Maryland is about 2 hours from my home, and it is about 2 hours to Amherst from my place.

If you want to meet up somewhere and ride out together that would be great. If you come up interstate 79 we could meet right at the PA turnpike entrance. You can leave your car and I will be glad to drive.

Just a reminder, the meeting is just a couple of days away.  Conrad is going to do "what is in your garage".

Hi Scott,
According to the 2010 POG Membership Directory, we have 6 members in Kansas, and another 7 in near-by Oklahoma.
Bob from Michigan.

Scott Rumford

See there should be one, I know if it was near by I would attend.

Good meeting, now I know what I,ve been missing, a longg haul, 380 miles one way, 14 hours total drive time. But worth the trip.

Paul Danik

Dan,

Glad you made it home OK, it was a real pleasure having you at the meeting. As meetings go it was a pretty interesting and diverse one, a good one for you to be a part of.

Conrad had a full load in his crew cab pickup when we left Mars as Mark Plank from Temple, TX joined us for the trip to Amherst along with "Crazy" Jake Fischer. While giving Mark the nickel tour of Pentonville we came across Jeff Penton outside doing some yard work.  We had a nice visit with Jeff and from the looks of him he could easily grab a set of handlebars and go......really fast for a long time :)

Jeff had John's old backhoe, dating back to possibly the 1950 -60s in his drive as he was shoveling some dirt into the bucket. When asked about the backhoe he stated that it was his dad's luxury yacht, stating that most folks like luxury toys, but his dad prefers his backhoe, dump truck and fleet of sharpened chainsaws being at the ready for his next project over such items.

Conrad did a fine job of "what's in your garage" having  quite a varied array of items, including a sign that would have been posted at the entrance to an underwater cave telling the inexperienced diver to keep out of the cave as it could result in this being his last dive...

To me these meetings are as much about having a nice evening together with folks who all seem like family, as much as handling the business at hand for the group, I hope others feel likewise.

Paul

PS.

Chris, John signed your items and they will soon be on their way back to you....
