I need to find wheels for a Mint 400 I plan to build.  Are the hubs brand / model specific or will they work as long as the are drum break with the correct drive side?

Forgive my ignorance, trying to learn something.

Thanks,
Matt

Matt 74 up 175/250 and 400 interchange both fronts and rear, a 73 250 will work too (black hubs).  Things start to change after 78.  If it will be a rider, key is to find a nice Mag rear and front that isn't cracked (common),or worn at the rear brake stay. Hope this helps!

Hi Matt,
I should have a set of 74.5 model wheels that will fit your Mint 400. The 74.5 model and up bike(laid down shocks) had Sun rims and the 74 models used the Akront shouldered rims. As Kip described, the hubs/brake plates are the same both model years and so the wheels I've got will fit your bike even if it's a 74 model. Send me an email off the board and we can try to work it out. Thanks !
