MC-5 250

Was wondering if anybody has ever, mounted a 1978-79 exhaust pipe to a 1976-77 MC-5 successfully and and if there are any modifications that need to done,any help would be great thx again always....

The 78-79 and even the 81 style pipe can be used on the MC-5 if you use the later 78 MC5 tank with the LH petcock farther forward to clear the large portion of the pipe, or plug the tank fitting since the stock 76-77 MC5 fitting is too close. I have also used a red HS tank on a MC5 frame, which also has the petcock fitting farther forward. Mike

As far as the mounting, it bolts right up with just the use of a piece of flat stock on the original mounting tab. The snake pipe mounts a little higher.
