Nice machine, I would buy it but I have the same bike (76 GS400) and love it.  If anyone is looking for the best 400 Penton made, this is it.  Rides like a dream, torque, tons of power. Not a "light switch" like the white tank bikes, best yet, you can touch the ground!:D.

If you put a 76/77 pipe (gs or mc) and the thicker head gasket (the ones Al B had made)on that 75, you will get rid of the light switch power. On my 75 for mx I use the 76/77 mc-5 pipe and the thin head gasket with the cylinder raised a little to lower the compression just a bit.
