Hi All,
Was hoping if someone could post photos of the proper front brake cable routing of a 74 hare scrambler? (Clearly showing the hub area)

I bought the bike 5 years ago and I'm finally getting it reassembled but I am confused with the cable routing and the front brake stay seems to position the cable treaded portion on the hub at an odd angle? When the cable is threaded in it directs the cable at an angle that makes the cable go towards the fork leg? The front brake stay seems to be too long, but I'm sure it is the correct stay.

Any guidance would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks in advance

Which side of the bike do you have the brake on?

Dale,
When sitting on the bike the brake assembly is on the left side.

John, if you custom make a shorter front brake stay it will reposition the cable at an angle more aligned with the fork leg, thus preventing binding and actually creating better braking action.  Kent Knudson does this on all the Team Pentovarna bikes, but I'm not sure which brake stay he uses.  Good luck,

Mick

Mike,
Now that I see how the original routing was done the angle puts a weird angle on the cable. I am in the process of making a custom front brake stay. Thanks
