Not garage saLe, maybe too close to the holidays, lack of money, not a complete unit, means you have to source a "D" motor I believe, or other variables. I know I bought my '74, complete with motor, but needing an overhaul for less than $300.

Not a D motor bike, it would be later with aluminum wheels, still way too much IMHO for an unrestored chassis with no engine. You can still find running Six Days bikes for that much. Mike

Thank you for the responses ,  figured I may be asking to much !

Interesting to hear about the D motor, someone recently mentioned to me cylinders for the D motor fetching upwards of $1400.00.

Most likely a blessing in disguise , its a piece of artwork to me.

I have a D cylinder, I be glad to take $1400.00 for it.

Thanks for looking , Happy New Year.

Thanks ,
Matt

Where in Ohio are you exactly? I have room for another 2-3 bikes on the way to the York swap meet Saturday, Jan 19th. If we met up I might be able to get it out there for someone. Mike

I imagine that Dan McEntee will get down there soon to get some more of his late brothers bikes, and might be able to help get your bike to a prospective buyer from St. Louis or Illinois, although probably not in time for the York Swap Meet. Mike

What would be the correct engine for this bike? Thanks

thrownchain

Mike says it shouldn't be a "D" motor, so I would say a "6 B" would fit the bill.

MattyQ

Hi , i am going to take another direction on this bike .  Thank you everyone for looking !

If the bike was a six - day enduro, I believe the sachs motor was a B motor in 1974.  The D motors were used for the motocross model from mid 1974 to 1975.  If the vin was before June, 1974, the bike had a B motor in it.  The experts can confim this comment.
