what would you reccomend a 36mm bing or a mikuni, if mikuni what size and round slide or flat slide, bike i bought had no carbeurator so need to acquire something

I don't think flat slides are legal in vintage racing. New bing's might be hard to find and parts are expensive. You can still buy new mikuni's. Thats probably the way to go. Plus alot of guys say the bike runs better with the mikuni.

I believe that 77 models were available with Lectrons, so they would be legal.  I know that my 77 250 came with a Lectron directly from Penton Amherst.

A '77 MC5 is Historic class, which is the first Post Vintage class and Lectrons are legal. They cost more money than a Mikuni but they are worth every penny, just ask anyone that has one.
