I have a question.....I'm putting a 1976 125 motor into a 1977 125 frame and have a 1/2" gap at the left rear mount. The right side rear has a bolt on spacer on the cases (which I expected) and I'm wondering if there is some sort of spacer needed on the left side rear. The down tubes at the rear mount area measure 8-1/2" inside and the motor mounting surfaces measure 8", leaving me 1/2" I need to fill. Any ideas? I suppose I can fab up a spacer if I need to.

It sounds like you are missing the large nut that screws into the LH rear case, and is often stripped out. A little JB Weld and screwing in a new or good used nut goes a long way toward taking care of the problem other that what a good Magnesium welder can do. Mike

I must be missing that nut.......
Are you telling me the nut is hollow and the motor mount bolt passes through it? Any idea where I can find one?

Yes, and protrudes into the case. Gary Ellis might have s a spare. Mike

Mike, you wouldn't happen to have a part description, part # and photo from a manual would you? I'm trying to chase down this part and I want to seem at least semi intelligent....ya know?

Thanks

The part is referenced in the engine manuals as an engine mount bushing, part # 52.30.010.100 and interchangeable part # 51.30.010.100 and is the same for all KTM 125-175-250-400 engines, probably from 1973-early 1980. Anyone who rebuilds KTM engines may have spares from engine cases that are rotted out from moisture and corrosion, or damaged. I ususally give all of my spare engine cases to Gary. Mike
