For some reason leading axle forks were not well accepted in Europe, I have seen many '76-'77 GSs, also lots of SWMs and such with the straight leg forks up to '78 and Moiseev used them all the way to '79 I think.

Confirmed - This GS6 is being sold by Filippo Camperio.  FC is involved with the Italian vintage magazine FUORISTRADA & MOTOCROSS D'EPOCA which has featured a number of very nice KTM articles.  He and his wife Carolina visited with us at VMD and they are rumored to be working on an article on the Penton brand.  Although only available in Italian the newest edition is available to download on pocketmags.
