Hi Guys,
I have a Bing 54/36/116.  What model size bike did this come from and what size carb is it?  Thank you,

Mick

It's a 36mm probably off a 250.

Mick,
the Bing 54 came with 34, 36, 38 and 40 mm dia, so 54/36/xxx for the 36 mm dia. The last three or four digits were simple numbers to identify the carb with different settings. The 250 cc 7 speed Hercules had 54/36/1101, the 175 cc had 54/34/1001.

Here are the Bing data sheets for the 54/xx/xxx carbs:

Thanks All, the one I have has a built-in choke lever, as opposed to the handlebar controlled enrichener the Penton bikes used.  Is it possible this came on another brand bike?

Thanks Leo, I saved copies of the files.

Also, it's somewhat gummed up (but the slide does not have the usual smiley face).  What's the best method for cleaning out jets and passages?  I've got a parts cleaner.

Yes, it did come from another later model bike as I never saw one with the choke lever back in "The Day". Jetted properly it will work fine though!

Buy the original gold/yellow Pine Sol and soak the carb, it will not harm it and you can leave it on for as long as it takes to get it clean.

Gunky insides:

Gunk was pretty soft, hopefully the rest will clean up as well:

Also, the pin that holds the floats in place; it's pretty tight and I don't want to do something stupid.  How do you all suggest I get it out?

As I recall, that pin is knurled on one end and smooth of the other so it's sort of directional...it just taps out with a small punch.

That is grungy, I've brought a few back to life in that shape, and one had to become trophy parts for our Rockers Reunion show in Indianapolis.
