Vapor Blasting

Hi all,
After moving to a new house last August which has a large shop building, I've been doing research on purchasing some sort of abrasive blast cabinet now that I have space for one. I looked at a lot of different blast cabinet set-ups over the last 8 months and in the end made the decision to purchase a new vapor blasting cabinet and expect it to be delivered sometime soon. There have been a few threads on the site recently about how well this process works and am really looking forward to having such a great tool. Once I've had a chance to use the cabinet and find out its capabilities, I'll post some pictures for your review and will have an interest in doing some outside work so please keep me in mind for future consideration. Dave, enjoy it as I just had a carb body done and it was amazing.  Will make cast stuff better than new.  Keep us posted on progress, may send some work your way!![8D]

I used the dry ice vapor system in 1997 on press welders at Kentucky truck plant when I was project manager on under body systems and worked incredible well then , but was extremely expensive to operate . I had not thought about that in years , but know it can do delicate work and when finished leaves no trace of any media . Will keep this mind and just wondered how that would work on the whole outside of engine ?

I currently media blast the exterior of assembled engines that I plan on painting and running if in good enough condition to do so without disasembly, prior to extensive rebuilding at some point later to determine their condition after careful taping up of any place media is unwanted. I see no problem with the vapor blasting if careful taping up and staying away from those areas during the process. Mike
