I bought a copy of The John Penton Story last year at MidOhio.  Just got around to watching it last night.  Should not have waited so long.  What a terrific documentary!  I learned a lot and couldn't keep my eyes from watering.  I bought my first completion bike in 1972, a 125 Husky from Honda of Piqua which probably came through Penton Imports as the distributor.  Next bike was a brand new 175 Jackpiner and I loved it!  Then a 125 Elsinore and just like the movie portrays, a game changer.  I went on to own other Huskies and KTMs so stayed loyal to the European brand.

The early 1970s were the best days of my life.  Motocross was front and center and I could not ride, race or read enough about the sport.  Penton and Hi-Point were early and major influencers.  Whenever I see films or articles of those halcyon days I remember how well I truly loved them.  The John Penton Story took me back in time, just like On Any Sunday does, to that seemingly magical period.

Thanks for making a terrific biography and history of the man, the family, the company and the era.  Very well done!
