good shocks?

Anyone ever use YSS shocks?  they seem to be the "deal" for vintage racing twin shocks at $500 a pair. I dont know about you, but for short travel bikes its hard for me to justify even this much money for 4 inches of travel!  Just give me alot of compression dampening, good rebound and were good to go.  Thats why I do not like Works shocks for short travel bikes.  Not enough compression dampening for me with their ball system. Although I do like them for long travel bikes. I tried a pair of progressive 12 shocks but the shaft travel is only like 2.5 inches.  At least on the pair I got.  I see different picts of those shocks with different bumpers and such, so they have me a bit confused.
Anyway YSS anyone?  Any other ideas?

These shocks are for a 125 by the way.
