Wanted: Front hub 74 HS ( interchange years?)

Looking for a bare front wheel hub for a 74 Hare Scrambler. Were all 73-75 hubs made of Magnesium? What years will interchange with this style hub? The one I have is cracked. Thank you for any help, Dave

Cracking is normal, yes they all interchange, stamped "Magnesium" Up to 1978

Thanks Kip. So, 73 up to 78 but not including 78. Would that be 175's-400's?

The only difference in 78 is they were silver not black, then in 79 they started with a conical Hub. Mike

I heard there was an improved hub. If so, what years would this be and can you tell the difference?

I haven't seen any of the 78's cracked but they say magnesium on them as well I'm not sure if there's a difference in the actual casting. It might be a concern if you're racing but for just general use the cracks aren't really detrimental unless they're bad. There is a steel inner core that the actual bearing sit in. Mike

Yes there is a thicker cast mag hub in 1976 ? And I found there is thicker black non mag as well. I have any Hub you need.
