are there different swing on bolts that were made? A 72 frame with a 73 jackpinner motor, the crimp bolt bottoms out before it tightens down on bolt,It started to work it's way back out. measured a bolt head from one of my other bikes and there is a difference
thanks Mickey

no one knows the answer I'm looking for?

Never measured any of them.  I am no longer sure if part numbers are different but that might be a start to find if they were different.

I had one once on an MC5 chassis that had previously frozen up in the swing arm and rotated, wearing the outer circumference of the Allen head requiring a sleeve to be able to cinch down tightly. The previous owner installed bronze bushings in the worn bearing bores. Mike

The swing arm bolts are all the same from 1972 thru 1979 (except the KTM 420) and some of the 1980s bikes.

The large Allen head of the bolt and the pinch area on the frame will get worn if it is not kept tight. This is an overlooked maintenance item that is commonly overlooked. This happened to me with my first Penton. [xx(]The only maintenance that I did was oil the chain after every ride.

These bikes were so dependable that we fail to double check all the mounting bolts and then things wear out.
