Fork Seals Installation

Which way do you install the fork seals? Do you install the seals, with the hard plastic side down to the wheel or up to the triple tree?

Also, as anyone used a fork seal called "leak Proof fork seals" and what was your luck with these seals.

Good rule of thumb on seals-the spring on an oil seal always goes towards the fluid side of the seal. Dennis

Regarding my above post. If the seal doesn't have a spring, the "stiff" side of the seal would go to the fluid side. Sometimes you will have seas with a spring and astiff side on the seal and then the spring generally goes away from the fluid and the spring side is used to keep the dirt out while the stiff side keeps the oil in. If you set your seal on its side and push your finger through it you can feel the difference in the resistance of the sealing surface. HTH Dennis

     I used the Leak Proof Fork Seals brand  on a number of cycles that I own and repaired for friends and found that they work great for the price.
