I am currently rebuilding the stock Bing for my 1972 Six Day and I need to know what size needle I need to order. Bing's website lists about fifteen different options for needles in that carb. If anyone knows the part number for the correct one that would be great!

It has 2 lines around it and we always have called it a number 2 but not sure of part number. Hopefully you are using a NEW Needle jet also because they wear and you maybe chasing tails.  273 on that one for me.

The options Bing's website give me to choose from are... 3S1, 4E1, 401, 601, 6G1, 6L1, 8E1, 8H1, 8M1, OB1, 46-291, 46-292, 46-293, 46-293. I'm at a loss on these part numbers.

The part numbers you listed are for the type 84 carburetors. The stock carburetor on a 72 125 Six Day would have been a type 53 carburetor. You might want to call Bing and give them your carburetor number. The number is a stamped number on the intake side of the carburetor. It might look something like 1/27/XXX if it's a type 53 or something like 1/28/XXX if it's a type 84 carburetor. The Bing people are very helpful.

I'm 98% sure the carb that was on it was a Bing 84. I will double check that tomorrow though.

That was the hot setup for HP the 84 but never was stock.  The 53 was OEM.
