Looking for an exhaust for a 1977 GS6 175.  Entire exhaust, or the back half would work, possibly 250 & 400 are the same?.

Thanks

Possibly 125 and 175 are the same, but 250 and 400 are the same. You should inquire with Dale Fisher to see if he has plans on placing another exhaust order with Pillordino for an Italian made reproduction exactly like the originals. You'll never find a used one, at least in any usable condition. I bought one for my 78 GS6 250 when they ordered them in quantity some time ago, and it is an exact duplicate of the original.

Not sure if 125 and 175 GS6 are the same bolt up as I never saw a 77 125 GS6.  I would assume the exhaust manifold is a different size but that is fixable.

Thanks for quick replies.  I knew about the Italian reproductions, very nice, and may have to bite the bullet and do that.

My pipe is usable just the rear section has been molested over the years and looks nothing like a Penton pipe any more.

I was hoping to at least find the usable rear section and then weld them together (behind the number plate),  and fabricate factory type mounts as needed.

I think I have one. What is the diameter of the pipe where it meets the cylinder?

I have had and maybe still have both manifold for 125 and 175 with the aluminum finned housing and the outside dimension is the same but the inside opening where it matches up to the cylinder is smaller on the 125. At the time I had planned on opening it up with a die grinder to use it on a 175.

Mike,

Have you ever seen a 77 125 GS6?

Not in person, but I sold Gary Ellis a NOS GS6 125/175 exhaust pipe last year still wrapped in the paper. I bought the 175 manifold off eBay. I had a 76 MC5 125 that I sold the engine from and was putting a 75 7 Finn 175 engine in the chassis which required trimming a lot of fins, (which is why they never made it 76 MC5 175 until they came out with a 6 fin engine). I was going to use the 125 manifold but decided to buy a 175 one instead of doing a lot of work to open up the inside to match the cylinder opening.

I saw a pics on the internet of the one that Kip Kern restored, probably for or referred to the collection by Ron.
