Kenny Roberts Penton flattrack bikes

Hello, Does anyone know the history of the KRP flattrack bikes? Were the frames chromoly or mild steel. I know the original Kenny Roberts frames were made of mild steel and mig welded. I was wondering if there was a change for the Pentons. Thanks in advance
