Paint Job Woes

I am so, so upset.  I had a perfect paint job on my '75 250 MX tank.  Straight stickers, beautiful paint, and a clear coat that made the paint look deep and solid.  As soon as I went to put on my second coat of clear (I should have left well enough alone), sections of the job wrinkled up like an orange!  It dried for 24 hours in 65 degrees of dry air, I used the same brand of paint, and I know my hands were oil free.  I'm probably going to live with it since it is my race tank, but I'm awful curious to know what happened so I don't do it again.

Some paints require recoating within a couple hours or waiting until the paint is completely cured.  This could take as long as a month.  Depends on the type of paint.
