I just returned from a very successful weekend at the Indy dealer show.  This year's ISDT Reunion Ride will be a major event.  Two items top the list...
The first is the likely reunion of the 1973 Vase A champion team.  Malcolm Smith is coming.  Dick Burleson is coming.  Ed Schmidt is coming.  Paul Danik is going to hog-tie Ron Bohn if he doesn't come on his own.  These guys brought home the Silver Vase for the US in the 1973 Dalton Mass ISDT.  It will be a treat to honor them once again.
Secondly, Speedvision has committed to doing a restoration series on a Husky 8-speed that will culminate with it being ridden at the Reunion Ride.  The series will start with a tour of Dave Mungenast's Classic Motorcycles LLC museum and shop and then follow the restoration of the 8-speed by Ed Schmidt (Sr & Jr) and wind up at the Reunion Ride.  This is great publicity for the Ride.
Expect a bumper crop of Six Days vets at the Ride this year.  There is a lot of excitement out there about this event, and much of it is due to past participants such as Dave Mungenast, John Penton, Doug Wilford, Dane Leimbach, Chris Carter, Dwight Rudder, Kevin Hines and many other ISDT/E vets who spread the word among the Six Days crowd.
Mark October 26-28, 2001 on your calendar now and plan to join us in Park Hills, MO.  For more info email me at [email protected].
See you there!
