After 30 years, I once again own a '72 Penton 125 Six Day. I want to build it into an AHRMA Classic CZ125 beater. I'm looking for advise on who can build me a strong motor. Not just max power, but good performance with some measure of reliablity. And, of course, get whatever needs done to the shifting for smooth action and reliablity. Since I've not been in the Penton loop for so long, any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help, Bob.

Bob,
I would recomend Doug Wilford for your Sachs engine needs.  What I see when it comes to people racing the vintage bikes are in two categorys.
(1)  The Motorcycle. The engine must be reliable and start every time(period).  The motorcycle must handle.
(3)  The rider must be in excellent condition( this is not the fun part).
Doug can build a great engine.  Most of the very modified engines I have built for people didn't last because lack of keeping up the proper maintence on the engine.
If you want Doug's e-mail address just e-mail me.
