Mikunis on black motor Piners

Getting ready to put my 72 Piner together and I want to put a Mikuni on it for some more low end. I spoke with John this past weekend and he gave me some hints on jetting, ect. I am thinking about going with a new 30mm from Pro-Flo and would like to have some input from some who have "been there, done that" I know that the top end suffers for the gains on low end but I am looking for more grunt and believe me, I won't know the top end is any different as I seldom use it at this stage of my life!LOL Any and all input is welcome.
