I have just finished reading part 2 of "Young Ted" del Solar's article about his 584.7 mile trailride in the latest issue of
Still...Keeping Track, and I had to make a few comments. For those of you who don't know it, " Young Ted " is 75 years old, but Ted and his wonderful wife Connie don't let numbers stop them from enjoying life!!
Ted, you and Connie are an inspiration to us all, thank you for taking the time to share with us your thoughts and views of not only your remarkable ride, but also of life in general.
I can't help but to think of what a fine impression Ted made on all of the young people he met during his ride, as evidenced by the top photo on page 14. Ted and Connie make up a mighty fine Penton Future Project team, lots of young people will remember the 75 year young Penton rider who did a 584.7 mile trailride, the bike will be given much of the credit by some, but the real "gravel spitter" is also a "chain puller".

Thanks Ted and Connie.

Amen, Paul.  Ditto on the congrats to you, Ted.  What a wonderful inspiration.  Hope I can do anything near to that kind of riding some day.  I also greatly enjoyed the story on Boyd R. in Keeping Track.  Another great inspiration.  Way to go, Boyd!  I would like to know more about your Beta Alp.  I've never heard of the model.  Keep on riding, guys!

Ohio Ted,
We have a POG meeting this Thursday at 7pm, it will be held at the KTM building just outside of Amherst.  If you can spare the time we would love to see ya.  The meetings are usually on the first Thursday of the month but this one was pushed back as several members were at bikeweek.

Paul

PS  Anyone else who wants to come is more than welcome, you don't even have to be a member to get in, but we may charge you $ 20.00 to get out!!:D

Twenty dollars is pretty cheap for all of the info and friendship one receives at a POG meeting! :)

Paul,  Thank you for the gracious invite to attend the meeting.  My ridin' buddy and fellow POG member, Terry D. and I are looking forward to doing so soon.  I must take this opportunity once again to express how incredibly kind and receptive every single member has been to us.  We cannot get over how generous you all are to a couple of nobodies who have never been anything more than great enthusiasts.  Heroes are real and are easily spotted.  Just look for the folks sportin' hats and shirts that say "Penton".

Oh yeah! This is awesome stuff!, both the ride that Ted and Connie accomplished, and the reading of their story. You guys are incredible and thank you!
