I agree with Rocket about washing the airfilter in soapy water after cleaning with solvent. When you think your filter is clean with the solvent, wash it and then check out how much muck is left in the bottom of the bowl.
A quick tip on airfilter replacements: If you are in a fix for a replacement, a Yamaha Blaster quad filter will fit the airbox for a '75 400

I only used gas the first time to get the oil I had already had on the filter,every time now it is just no-toil !! And it is easy on the hands[8)] How about the funny car Jungle Jim, or the pro stock of Bill "grumpy" Jenkins, Sox & Martin. I bet Ron could come up with trivia with this !but that would be another web site....
