help!! power band to late

hi i need help setting the carb on my 73 six day it runs great and every thing its just it doggs until almost wide open the she goes like hell what do i do to make a power band about half throtal do i adjust the needal or what im just confused it blows oiley fule out aroung the muffler to i would know how is some one told me what to do thanx

Travis,
 it could be the carb from what you have said.
do you have the maint. manual on the 125?
 if you do it covers how to do the adjustments. if not i can scan it and send them to you attached to an e-mail. check the float level and make sure the float needle valve is shuting off when the float bowel is full.
 if you dont already have one get a small fuel filter from a local bike shop and put it in the line that feeds the float bowel.
