I am bidding to buy a 1974 Penton 175 Jackpiner on ebay now. The motor will need a complete rebuild and the bike will need a bit of refurbishing but is in decent shape oherwise. I have let too many bikes I wanted get away and would like to buy this for my next project. Can the experts give me a top or ceiling as far as price goes without me being completely stupid? I really would appreciate your advice. I am planning on having it ready for the ISDT reunion ride this year if I am invited. Also, is this a good year for the bike? Thanks for all of the help in advance!

Bob,
I will leave the prices to someone else, but I owned the bike before Tommy and I will say that Tommy will tell you the truth about any question you ask.  Any help I can be just email me directly.

Bob, You have made a wise decision in telling the rest of us of your intent. Many  of us will back off the bidding when we are aware of other members bidding on particular items out of courtesy.  The 1974 Jackpiner is an excellent bike, and very reliable and a great choice!!
Good luck and I hope ya win it [:p]

Thanks so much guys! I really like the bike from what I can see. My intent is to restore it as nice as possible and ride it at selected events. I have always taken the best of care of my bikes and these are meant to be ridden. They can always be re-restored to new!I was going to bid on a couple of tanks on ebay and saw that Donnie was bidding on them and out of courtesy, did not bid. It seems however when somone needs something, everyone is willing to share their goods. That is what makes this group like no other! Thanks for the help and support.

Bob,
Just to let you know, I will sometimes bid on items that I don't really need, but would just like to have. If there is something I am bidding on and anyone needs it, just send me an email and I will usually back off on the bidding, unless it is something I need really bad.
Thanks

Thanks for letting me know that! By the way, thanks for the help on the headlight ears. I am learning but just ever so slowly. I also appreciate the source of parts for my bikes. Thanks again!
