I have been doing some research on converting my 400 to use a 38 Mikuni, I have a couple set of specs but have not seen anything with in the last year and wonder if anyone has made the conversion in the last 12 months. I am interested in what they have come up with. After last weekend at the races I need to. I came way too close to not scoring any points for the weekend and as far as I have to drive... that is not my idea of fun. This is what I have found so far....
Main  390-410, Pilot 30-60 slide 2.5-3.0, the needlejet and the jetneedle are a complete mystery to me. I plan on using what ever it comes with and only changing the needlejet if I have to. I thought I would start with main and the pilot on the rich side and step down as needed. The slide probably comes stock with a 2.5 so I was going to leave that alone too. I have heard of guys recutting the slide so that it breaths better on the low end... suppose to make it crisper and more punch right off the bottom of the powerband. maybe but I would rather not... not just yet. So what are some of you guys running on your 400 with a Mikuni?
