This Quiz will have us taking a closer look at Steel Tankers.  Of course the standard rules apply...that is Rob W can't answer the quiz for the first 24 hours[:o)].  Actually we will be doing some studies on steel tankers in the future (the future is now) that will give everyone a chance to contribute.  So stay tunes and we will have some fun, but remember old racers (me) move slow so be nice and patient.

I believe that this is an Italian of some note. If it is who I think it is, he is the son of a baker and began riding Penton motorcycles when he was still in the Italian military.

I'm guessing that this bike has a blue and chrome tank and is called a Jackpiner???

If Dane thinks he's Italian, perhaps Mario Rinaldi?

Jeff, didn't Mario Rinaldi race bigger bikes, 350s - 400s?

Peter,
Think much earlier than Mario Rinaldi. This rider had a link to Mario though.

Peter listen to the Big Guy(Dane).  Actually he is kinda a smaller type guy with Big Credentials......[:o)].

Well, if no one else is going to take Dane up on his clues, I believe this is none other than Arnaldo Farioli.

Dane & Ron, Kent nailed it (like I'm telling you something you didn't know:D)- Arnaldo Farioli - but I don't think I would have gotten this one for another day or two of Googling and poking.  Great photos.  Great Quiz.  Great fun with the banter!

Good job Kent!  (Does he win a shiny new Steel Tanker?;))

The gals and guys of POG are the BEST!

GO PENTON!

Check out the number on the number plate, is that John's or Leroy's bike from way back?  I believe I have a large photo of John riding that bike in "68" ISDT[?]  Then again, I may be crazy[:p]

Jeff D

Ahhh, Farioli!  Of course!  As Mr. Know-It-All used to say "You should have known."  Isn't KTM Farioli still a strong presence in the World Enduro Championship and ISDE?
