I just got a new pair of fork springs for my 35mm Cerianis and the diameter is 24mm as opposed to the old set which was 27mm approx. This seems too small. Seems more like the size for a pair of 32's. A little help on this?

The springs in my 74 1/2 (35MM forks) are almost 28 mm and the springs in my 72 Jackpiner (32MM forks) are just a hair under 24 mm. I don't know the "rule" but that's what I have if it helps any.

Are they both 32 mm or is one a 35mm fork?

An addendum to my original post. The springs I got were from Dave at AMS. Looking at an old post from 10/04, I see there was some discussion about this. These springs he sent me must be the smaller ones he sells. So my question is do his larger springs fit OK without binding. If so I guess I need those and cut them off.
