KTM ENGINE IDENTIFICATION

I NEED HELP TO ID ENGINE. I ONLY HAVE BOTTOM END. ON THE CLUTCH SIDE ON BOTTOM OF CASE  THE NUMBERS STAMPED ON CASE ARE 3-543*03430*. NUMBER FOR SIDE CASE,IGNITION SIDE IS 5433OOO4100.

Looks to me like it is a 1973 250 motor.

Hey MXEarl,
It appears to me that you have a Type 543 KTM (250 cc) engine. The Type 543 was first introduce in 1983 and then also used in 1984. If I am correct this is a liquid cooled engine case and the part number 543.30.004.100 is the part number for the engine cases (a set).

THANKS FOR THE HELP ON ENGINE ID. THE CASE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A 1973 SO I'LL GO WITH THE 1983. ALSO THE CASE PART NUMBER VERIFIES THIS. NICE TO ONLY HAVE TO GO TO ONE SITE FOR EXPERT INFORMATION.
