I just talked to James Smith who runs tech inspection at most of the national races. He has always read the rules to mean that all Sachs engined bikes run in the classic class. He knows the engine and can spot the difference between a B and a D. I know mine is a D and I have run classic. What was in Tom Benolkins bike in Texas?

Teddy,
Mine is a true B other than the Mikuni. I would tear it down for anyone if they brought a cold beer after the races.

Sounds good to me.  I believe they changed the rule a few years back. At one time they mentioned D in sportsman and also 1974 PUCH. They don't know although the specifically mention any machine with a Sachs A or B engine.  They don't mention D.  It is confusing for sure. But if James says they are allowed.......good enough for me.  I don't think they were anything that special anyway.

Tom,

I figured yours was a B because of Doug's proclivity towards the B. Coming to ISDTQW? It's a lot closer than CA.

Does AHRMA allow a reed valve in Classic?
