ENGINE REBUILD

Just getting around to rebuilding my 74 250 ktm engine at last,and was wondering if someone could put my mind at rest before i have my cylinder resleeved,it origanaly came with a 2r cylinder which is damaged and i'm going to put a 5r cylinder on there,now i know there is quite a difference in the ports, but i was wondering if running with standard 74 exhaust system it will run cleanly without any hidden problems. Probably worrying about nothing but you now how it is [].
