125 SD Connecting Rod

I am doing an engine of my 126 SD 6A engine and I need a connecting rod kit.  In searching the site I found this information

So I measured the pin on my engine and I get 49.28mm or 1.940".  This is quite a difference from John Durrill's measurements of 2.205" & 2.140".

What is the consensus from the group?  Was John maybe measuring a 175 and not a 125?

Tony, I measure 52.95mm on the 175 rod. I don't know if this helps. Some people have been able to get rod kits from a company called  Eurorod. I don't know if they are still in business. Gavin

Try euro-rod.com I found them in the AHRMA list of vintage suppliers.

 We measured 2 B engine cranks and 2 A engine cranks to come up with the #'s posted a few years ago. If you go with Euro Rod's kit make sure they know its a Sachs engine and not a KTM 125. You can get, last time I checked, new A rod kits for an A engine from the Hammers in Germany. They have a web site and its listed in that string you saw. Are you sure the engine you have is an A engine. we have some pictures of the A and B engine cases listed . They are easy to tell apart.
 We have 2 A cranks i can remeasure and one B i think if you want me to verify the #'s.

I would appreciate it if you would verify the rod pin measurements.

I looked for the photos of the A and B cases, but I cannot find them.  Where may they be hiding?

Man am I dumb.  Sorry for the confusion.

I double checked the rod pin today and it measures 2.140" or 54.37mm in width.  My digital caliper had been reset so I was reading about 5mm less than actual. So, based on John's information, I have an A rod.

I apoligize for all of the confusion and to everyone.  I guess the old saying "Measure twice, cut once" applies.

  I will try and get a picture of a B and A engine in the crank area so that you will be able to tell quickly.  I will send it to you via email.
