I recently used Watkins Transportation. The cost was half of what Forward Air charges, although I did have to crate the bike myself. $236 from Phoenix to Raleigh. Not bad!

I have used Allied Van Lines 3 times from Calif., New Hampshire, and Colorado to Atlanta, Ga. All excellent experiences. They pickup bike at you busisness/residence strap it down on a special pallet, and deliver it right to you busisness or residence. They use a small van ( 20' or so ) with hydraulic liftgate for P.U. and delivery. Haven't used them in a year or so but I believe their price was about the same as Forward Air but you don't have to deliver to airport and they supply all tiedowns. Same driver delivered all thre times to me. He said they P.U. or deliver about 50 bikes a month in metro Atlanta. Their # is 800-747-4100. I uaually talk to Jennifer Gibbs at ext. 229. Haven't talked to anyone else who has used them but my experiences have been excellent.
