Does anyone have a good clear picture of a Penton Mettco Replica? I am building one and I need to compare mine. I will bring it to Mid-Ohio. Thanks,  Mac

I just found out that I have an original METTCO late/73 Penton. I have been gathering parts for this "IN RESTORATION" bike. I had e-mailed a friend in OHIO last night with a few frames that I had just prepped for paint and he called me this morning and told me what I had. The frame is bare right now so if you want me to send you a picture I will ...e-mail me back @[email protected] dont have a seat or airbox assy for it. He said that I might have to use a Maico airbox assy.

Hi if you go to Pelican Guano motorsports site they have  two bikes termed Mettco replicas. I guess they are not spot-on replicas just tributes but I would not know. I think the owners did not get or thoroughly scrutinize their copy of "The Geek Factor of Anal Restoration".
:)

Good luck and please post pictures when you are through!

If that thing is suppose to be a replica, why would you have a modern aluminum silencer. That's ridiculous. Parts are 72 and 73 mix.....?

I had the same concern about the silencer, & I also thought Mettco's had riveted tanks. Mike

Does anyone have pictures of Bruce McDougles Penton?  It is a Mettco from the Day.

If it is the same bike the PG replica is said to have been built by M Biro, with the tank and pipe as characterized above:

Plus PG has another said to be possibly a former C Cranke bike but not confirmed. I think they are saying just that the paint scheme is a METTCO tribute:

And here goes the LG pics:

And one more from another source for good measure:):

Thanks Marrsattack.  I am looking for the right side of Bruce's bike now.  I appreciate the help.

I'm looking at the LG pic. Rider #419 his bike clearly is not using the Ceriani fork or the Penton front hub. The fork looks like it may be off a CZ? Would anyone like to guess what kind of hub that is. It definitely is conical, CZ maybe Maico?. Gavin

Happy to put up some photos it is so easy and makes the thread more enjoyable. There are some Mettco side and number plates on ebay right now[:p]
