If you enjoy older bikes and riding you have got to make this event next year.  It was truely an experience.  Everyone was there.  Malcolm Smith, Dick Burlison, Billy Uhl, Jack Penton, John Penton, and many more.  There was even a group of German former ISDT riders.  The trails were mostly fun but there were several rocky and tight knuckle whacking woods.  The AHRMA cross country courses were a bit wider than parts of this course.  Put barkbusters on your list for next year.

On day one there was two 21 mile loop with a woods special test at different locations each loop.  There was also a brake and excelleration test and a one lap time trial on the MX course.  The trail average speed was easy enough on day one that you were at checks with 15 to 30 minutes to rest or repair as long as you did not have bike trouble on the trail.  Day twos trail was one 30 mile loop that was mostly Saturday's course in reverse.  A decent amount of riders were late to the first check on day two as the average speed to trail difficulty was higher.  There was a woods special test but it was thrown out because the end timers were late arriving and some were missed.  Last thing of the day was the five lap race on the MX course.

There were many Penton riders and alot of them medaled.  I can't remember them all but hats off to all the medal winners.

Guys if you are an enthusiast make plans to go next year.  Whether it is to spectate or ride you won't regret it.

By the way that Burlison guy overalled.  I guess 8 National Enduro Championships makes you fast for life.

One very interesting note.  In what would be second or third overall was Kevin Brown riding the Knudson 74 250 Penton.  The other guys up front were guys like Burlison and Jack Penton on modern bikes.  Oh yeah, this is the best part Kevin was not only seconds from overall but he rode the first woods special test with a flat front.  Just one of our great Penton riders in action.
