I know that the 72 had yellow and maybe yellow or red  in 73 ?  I have a brochure for 1974 and it shows the 100 MX with red plates as does the 250 MX with the laydown swingarm. In the sales brochure its says that  "the new Mint 400 is just arriving now at your dealers"  if this helps with the time frame. Tank on the 100mx is the small mx type and has a gold GS sticker on it -ktm tuning and penton side case logos on the motor. Victor Monz had late 74 100 enduro with yellow -maybe the MX had red ???  Anyone[?]

LG, Of course there were exception's, but sometimes the rule was - yellow plates on the enduros, and green plates on the mx'ers in '74. I know that brochure, it's in back & white eh ? The '74 Berkshire MX shown has green number backgrounds - on red side panels.

I'm sort of thinking now that the green color number plates on the MX models, was a west side thing. I only remember the MX'ers around here having yellow plates.

My early 74 250 Hare Scrambler (Nov. '73) with the single upper shock position has red side panels with green number plates. I don't know where the bike originated from, but I bought it from a friend here in Illinois sometime around 1979. Bikes have a way of getting around, as my brother has my old 1974 six day that had a California title. Mike
