Ceriani forks

I need help with Ceriani forks as used in Pentons as I am converting an early Ducati Scrambler 1965 into competition and would like to exchange with the Penton specialists on this topic.

I have fitted a 32 mm Ceriani and need the following information:

Where can I get the air valves which are fitted into the upper fork nuts?

How much air will you apply?

How much oil you put in?
What oil do you use.

Normally, those air valves are not there on 32 mm Cerianis.
They look like they have been added.

Around here, I use Shrader valves from a hardware store with a NPT thread on them. I can't say what you might find in Germany.

I have several bikes with schrader valves in the caps but I do not use any air pressure. The reason is that it makes the ride too rough. and it does not allow the front forks to work correctly in corners... if you have to use air pressure in the forks it means that your fork springs are too soft.

Thanks for the good information and advices. So I guess I will start to use the fork without air and valves. IFortunattely I have a 2nd set of nuts w/o valves I will use.

How about the oil and oil quantity you recommend for a 120 kg bike?

Ingo,

The book says 135cc of ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid). ATF is said to be equivalent to 10wt Fork Oil. I use ATF in my 32mm forks on 100 & 125 Pentons with good results. This is for bikes that weigh 95kg with 70-80kg riders.

Your 120kg bike (264 lbs) would suggest stiffer springs and heavier fork oil depending on how aggressively you ride.
