OK, so some engineer at KTM had a sense of humor.  How do I get the Enduro exhaust pipe off my 1975 KTM 250?

All pipe rubbers off, carb tilted as far as possible, and hold your mouth right while turning front of pipe upwards and come forward slowly.

You have to screw it in and out, best way that I know how to descibe it, maybe twist it in and out would have sounded better.

I just removed a Jackpiner pipe on Sun and had to work it pretty hard but it came off. A little lubrication helped.

If frustration exceeds tolerable levels, you can pull the engine mount bolts and free things up quite a bit. Mike

If I have to almost remove the engine I may just take the hacksaw to that damn silencer/shroud thingy.

They will come out, do what Larry P. advised and they will come out without much problem.  Once you have done it, it gets a lot easier.

If the back is bent into the bike some from falls, ect it is much harder. I have one that is that way and I have to remove:
The right rear shock
The seat and right rear seat bolt
Both the two rearmost rubber pipe mounts
The left engine brace
Tilt the carb
Read a book on Zen meditation
I think thats all.

Mike,

All those things have been removed or tilted except the engine brace.  I'm going back in...tell my wife I love her.

Unbolt the exhaust manifold from the cylinder and it will come right off.

Jay, they forgot to tell you the most important step, go down to lowe's and buy a 100 foot section of 1/4 inch rope, tie one end to the door of the shop and the other end to your right leg. be sure to wear sturdy boots. and then take a knee and pray.....

Wait until you try and re-install the freshly painted pipe without scratching it. ;)
