INstead of being buried in another thread, thought maybe this deserved one of its own.

I'll be there. Will be riding my '71 steeltanker in the AMA museum's parade of vintage bike's and from what I understand, the bikes in the parade will be on display over the weekend. Got my pole-climber boots laced up, polished the old Bell 500TX helmet and joffa mouthguard, but unfortunately, my Penton Jersey seems to have shrunk several sizes over the last couple of decades.:(;)

Stop and say hello if you see me riding it around or wherever they will have them on display at.

I'll be there. I'll be bringing my '73 Penton project and a BSA bicycle to put in the BSA display.

I'll be there and bringing both of my brothers this time.

If AHRMA is not going to run it I'll go.  They (AHRMA as a whole) simply don't have the drive to reorganize and bury the hatchet for the good of the sport. VMD will survive, it just may take on a new or different flavor, hopefully better.

My son and I plan to come with our 73 Jackpiner, 77 GS6 and probably at least one TY 250 Yamaha's and several pit bikes.  We were going to ride the GS6 in the harescramble and the TY in trials events ... if they still happen,  I assume AMA will run the same offroad events?

Either way, we plan to come for all of cool old bikes, the people, the POG stuff & fellowship, and of course to haul more junk back home to impress the wife :D

I will be there, bringing a "74" 400, "74" 250, "74" 175, and a "77" GS 125.  Have already rented my swap spaces by the POG.  Don't care who runs the show (AHRMA/AMA), just interested in seeing my POG friends and having a great time!  ;)

I plan to go. Will prob take my 72 JP. Last year the 74 HS was a little zippy as a pit bike! May have the 78 MC5 400 to swap/sell if it proves to be too much of a handful (it is still on probation).

I will be there IF THERE IS a XC race on Friday(or Saturdau).

speedy. there will be a CC race there. whether ahrma is still involved as the folks putting it together or not. vintage motorcycle days is too big of an event for mid-ohio to lose and i don't believe that any of the disciplines will be dropped. hopefully the ahrma/ama dispute is resolved but either way we should know the outcome this week.    chicago jerry

As for the Vintage racing, if AHRMA isn't involved, I am not interested. The AMA in their greed is ruining everything.  I have been more interested in the swapmeet part but the AMA took that away from the organizer also.  Anyone see a pattern here ?
IMO,
Dwight

After much though and careful consideration, I've decided to stay away from AMA/VMD this year.  The AMA dumped AHRMA in favor of a secret deal with Rob Iannucci.  In doing so, the AMA dumped me (a life member).  AMA President/CEO Dingman and Iannucci are just too cozy.

Good luck to all Penton racers and fans.  Pulling onto Ross Road on a hot Thursday afternoon in July is something special.   I'm going to miss it.  Hope to see all the Ohio crew at ISDT RR in October.

I'll be there and try to get my same last minute space by the oil reclamation tank on top of the hill across from POG. I'm planning on bringing my 13 year old son Steven and his 13 year old cousin Clayton, the 1977 KRP, which I haven't started the restoration on yet, possibly my 76 400 MC5 project from scratch bike, a for sale 76 XL175 pit bike, and a not for sale very sweet low mileage 78 RM125, and who knows what else. See ya there! Mike

I'm currently planning on going, but haven't pre-entered yet. Heck, I haven't even booked a hotel room, but maybe I'll look around tonight. I guess I'm going because I've never been, and it's time for me to burn some incense at the Penton temple/village and hopefully get to meet some of The Family and Friends.  Oh..and my wife said we could go!

I'm bummed about that our CMF 125s have to run in what is essentially a Sportsman class for the MX races.  I think I'm actually looking more forward to the CC races on Friday with my Six Day after the fun I had at the Broome AHRMA CC.

If I can get my Six Day back to health. ;)

And I'm also looking very forward to taking delivery of my "new" 76 MC5 250 at Mid-Ohio, which Mr. G. Ellis has been providing a nice foster home for in the meantime. If Gary gives me the thumbs up, I'll probably shake it out in their Evo 1, or Historic class equivalent.  Yee-hah! I'm bringing my numbers to slap on the plate....

Thanks for the link, Ernie.  I'm still trying to understand some of the smoke-filled room stuff, but the RRW article helps.  John Ulrich doesn't pull any punches, always respected that about him - I still follow roadracing like a hawk.  I drooled over the want ads in his paper mag as I shopped for my first roadracer back in 95-96.

Once again, we won't be crossing paths, Ernesto.  I'll try to wave the Penton banner for us pal, but could be a bit uphill against the Elsies in MX.

Not sure what my Fall plans are yet, but I guess I should engage in some deep thought about the ISDT RR.

Can some one help me a bit logistically?  Will I need to trailer my bikes to the CC race (unload and set-up), trailer my bikes to the MX (ditto), or can I rent a Penton village spot and the races are within spitting distance?  Just how does this work?  Enquiring minds wanna know!

Thanks,

Dr. Robert

I'm going since it's the only time I get to catch up with some of you guys. Plus its like a wreck on the highway, you know you shouldn't look but ya just have to.

Dr. Roberto,

According to AMA schedule of events, CC, VMC, PVMX are off Ross Road.  If that is the case, then it will not be neccessary to move about.  See more at:

http://www.americanmotorcyclist.com/amaracer/

Page 29 has a breakdown of events.  The POG & Pentonville are the best.  Don't skip lunch time  -- Dale B. sandwiches and other goodies are not to be missed.  The off-road pits are a long way from Pentonville.  You may be able cut across the grounds and ride your 6-day to the swap meet area.  I did last year.  Or, just start walking and stick your thumb out -- there are many golf carts running about that may give you a lift.

Mid-O is special for sure.  However, the ISDT RR is very special.  Don't miss it.
